Cherry Godfrey has strengthened its presence on the Isle of Wight following the acquisition of the mortgage, life insurance and general insurance client book from Ward House Mortgages and Life.
The agreement sees Cherry Godfrey assume responsibility for servicing Ward House’s existing client portfolio, including ongoing mortgage advice, life insurance reviews and general insurance renewals.
Ward House Mortgages and Life is a well-known family-run business and operated for over 35 years, supporting local residents with mortgage and protection advice. This move ensures continuity of advice for Ward House clients from Cherry Godfrey’s UK head office in Newport, Isle of Wight, while providing them with access to the wider range of financial services offered by Cherry Godfrey.
Michael J Ward, founder of Ward House Mortgages and Life, said: “After many years of advising clients on mortgages and protection, I have made the decision to begin stepping back from day-to-day broking. It was extremely important to me that my clients were looked after by a business that shares the same values, experience and strong community focus. Cherry Godfrey is a perfect fit, and I am confident clients will continue to receive the highest level of service.”
As part of the transition, Michael Ward will join Cherry Godfrey as a Non-Executive Director, providing continuity and ongoing support to ensure a smooth handover.
Cherry Godfrey, which has been established for over 33 years, offers a comprehensive range of financial services including mortgages, personal and business finance, life insurance and general insurance. The company operates on the Isle of Wight, Southampton, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man and is known for its personalised, customer-focused approach.
David Cherry, CEO of Cherry Godfrey, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ward House clients to Cherry Godfrey. This transition ensures clients continue to receive trusted, experienced advice from a team that shares the same values and strong community focus. Our priority is to provide a seamless handover and long-term support, whether that’s reviewing mortgages, arranging protection or supporting broader financial needs.”
