What is the difference between Fully Comprehensive, Third Party Fire & Theft or Third Party Only cover?
Fully Comprehensive
This covers loss or accidental damage to your own car, damage to third party vehicles or property and third party liability protection for injury or damage caused by an insured driver.
Third Party Fire & Theft
This covers damage to third party vehicles or property, third party liability protection for injury or damage caused by an insured driver, damage caused by fire and theft or attempted theft of the insured vehicle.
Third Party Only
This covers damage to third party vehicles or property and third party liability protection for injury or damage caused by an insured driver.
Can I drive my vehicle in Europe?
Most Private Car Policies will automatically cover you for a period of 60 or 90 days per trip in most EU countries. Please refer to your policy wording.
Can I drive a Private Car not belonging to me?
If you are over 25 and have held a Full Car Licence for at least 12 months then most Private Car Policies will automatically allow the Third Party Extension for the Policyholder only to drive someone else’s car with their permission.
Is a Courtesy Vehicle covered in the event of an Accidental Damage Claim?
You may be entitled to a Courtesy Car in the event of an Accident Damage Claim. Alternatively you can Hire a vehicle and we will endeavour to recover the costs as an Uninsured Loss.
Is cover for my Uninsured Losses/ Motor Legal Expenses Insurance Included?
Uninsured Loss Recovery and Motor Legal Expenses Insurance Cover is an optional cover provided by ARC Legal Assistance – this covers for Advisors costs to pursue damages arising from a road traffic accident and any out of pocket expenses incurred at the fault of a third party, e.g. policy excess or personal injury sustained at the fault of the third party.
