Hi, Cassidy! It’s great to have a chance to chat with you, and to learn a bit more about your role at Cherry Godfrey. To kick off, could you tell us about your first job – and also what attracted you to Cherry Godfrey?

I worked at the Guernsey Press over the summer between my A levels and my HNC in Art and Design – it was a really interesting experience and I learned a lot. In terms of Cherry Godfrey, I liked the fact that I could do a bit of everything in this particular role: organisation, event planning, designing and social media.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve ever faced at work – and how did you overcome it?

Guernsey Press was my first full-time job; and, as I said, it was a real learning curve! One of the biggest challenges I faced was to do with handling big groups of people: I learned how to stand up in a room full of people and organise them, often needing to arrange them for a photo. This was often terrifying… but I got through it.

What values/skills have been the most important to you, both personally and professionally?

Being able to speak up in a crowd and be heard; but, also, showing that you’re able to listen and understand other viewpoints and ideas. If you are a creative, it is important to have your ideas heard - but it’s also vital to listen to others. Collaboration often leads to improvement.

What excites you most about your job?

I love being able to meet new people and try new things. Also, we’re always learning – Facebook, Google, et al. change all the time. They never give us a break!

What else do you love about Cherry Godfrey?

I love the people and being able to travel between the Islands to visit other offices, as well as producing Island-specific content. The people are lovely, and it’s great to work for a company that cares about their employees and customers.

Thanks Cassidy – it’s been great to hear some of your professional insights. Now we’d like to learn a little more about you! To start: favourite film?

Any Disney movie! It’s impossible to choose just one – they’re all so good! – but the Princess movies are my favourites.

And, finally: what do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy going roller skating, and – in winter – ice skating. I like learning new tricks! I also really enjoy skating with my friends.
