Cherry Godfrey has appointed Neil Stanford to lead its Mortgage and Life team in Guernsey.

Mr Stanford brings over 31 years of experience in the insurance industry, along with a strong background in finance and banking.

This appointment comes at a crucial time, according to Cherry Godfrey, which says that the property market in Guernsey shows signs of increased activity.

David Cherry, CEO of Cherry Godfrey, expressed enthusiasm for Mr Stanford’s arrival, highlighting his excellent reputation and the company’s focus on delivering top-notch service and stability to clients.

“Neil is a fantastic fit for Cherry Godfrey. His reputation speaks for itself, and we’re thrilled to welcome someone so respected and well-connected within the industry.

“This appointment reinforces our focus on delivering excellent service and long-term stability to our Mortgage and Life clients in Guernsey and beyond.”

Mr Stanford himself acknowledges the challenges in Guernsey’s property market, especially for first-time buyers dealing with high prices and rising rents.

He says his goal is to help clients act quickly when they find a suitable property and secure a mortgage that fits their individual needs.

“Guernsey’s property market is starting to show signs of movement, but challenges remain – especially for first-time buyers who are navigating high property prices and rising rental costs.

“With my experience and understanding of the local lending landscape, I’m focused on helping clients move quickly when they find the right property, and on matching them with the mortgage that best suits their individual needs.

“I’m excited to be joining Cherry Godfrey at such a pivotal time, and to be part of a team that shares my commitment to supporting local people.”
