- What’s your background?
I have worked in the insurance industry for 20 years and this includes both broking and underwriting. Prior to this I worked in retail.
- What are you most excited about in your new role?
I’m really looking forward to starting my new role as a Senior Commercial Broker and working alongside Alexie. I’m excited to support local businesses and build strong relationships within the Isle of Man community.
- What attracted you to join Cherry Godfrey Group?
I feel that Cherry Godfrey is a company that genuinely cares about both its clients and its employees. The opportunity to contribute to the growth of the business was very appealing to me.
Alexie was incredibly welcoming during my interview, giving me a great insight into Cherry Godfrey and the team. I was really impressed by the company’s values and the people I met, and it made me excited about the opportunity to join the team.
- What makes you feel proud at work?
I enjoy working as part of a team to solve problems and improve processes, particularly when it results in a positive outcome for both our clients and the company.
Having the trust of my team is important to me. I take pride in knowing that people can depend on me, and it’s rewarding to know that my work can make someone else’s job easier while helping the team achieve its goals.
- If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
To stop trying to please everyone and be yourself!
I've learned that no matter what you do, you can't please everyone, so it's far better to just be yourself. We are all different, and the only person you can truly be is yourself, and this comes naturally. The people who genuinely matter will accept you for who you are. True friends don't expect you to change.
- What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?
I love the weekends because I get time with my kids. I’m a summer girl, so I love going to the beach with the kids when we have a bit of warm weather.
- What is the best advice you have ever been given?
I was told numerous times when I was young to treat people how I want to be treated myself. As I got older, I understood this more but still to this day it reminds me to be patient, respectful, and considerate... especially in challenging situations.
